Terms, without the fog

A fair agreement
starts with clarity.

Draft terms

These working terms identify the intended operator, United States launch boundary, New York court venue, product ownership model, and purchase rules while keeping counsel-dependent clauses visibly unfinished.

Working draft · July 30, 2026

01

Agreement to these terms

These draft terms describe the intended agreement between you and Built In Space LLC for using Sanctum and its website. They are published for product review and transparency and are not yet effective legal terms. Sanctum is intended for United States availability at launch.

These terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these terms conflict with Apple's required terms for the licensed iOS application, Apple's terms control to that extent.

02

Using Sanctum

You may use Sanctum for lawful personal and professional voice capture, transcription, organization, and writing. You are responsible for the material you record and for following the consent, privacy, copyright, employment, and recording laws that apply to you.

Recording, local storage, playback, browsing, editing, renaming, deleting, sharing, and export do not require an account or payment.

Sanctum is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13, and if you are not old enough to form a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use.

03

Your words and files

As between you and Sanctum, you retain your rights in recordings, transcripts, notes, and other content you create. Your local files remain yours when you stop using the app.

When you request server-side analysis or enable Private Backup, you give Sanctum only the limited permission needed to process or store the selected material for that feature.

04

Accounts and analysis

An account is required for server-side transcription and synthesis because those services incur processing costs and require a subject for metering and abuse prevention. On-device transcription and the local recorder remain outside that account boundary.

Processing availability can depend on third-party services, network conditions, supported formats, and usage limits. Analysis output can be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before you rely on it.

05

Purchases and subscriptions

Sanctum sells analysis minutes rather than access to local features. Available offers may include a monthly subscription and one-time top-ups. Prices are localized by the App Store, and the app shows the allowance supplied by Sanctum's server before purchase.

The planned monthly subscription grants 1,200 analysis minutes per subscription period; subscription minutes reset and do not roll over. A one-time top-up grants 600 minutes and does not expire while the account exists. Offers and amounts shown in the app at purchase time control if they differ from this draft.

A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled through the App Store. Apple handles billing, cancellation, and refunds under its terms; RevenueCat records purchase status so Sanctum can credit the server ledger. Deleting a Sanctum account does not cancel the subscription. Account deletion permanently forfeits every unused subscription, welcome, and top-up minute.

06

Acceptable use

Do not use Sanctum to violate the law, infringe another person's rights, evade consent requirements, distribute malware, abuse paid processing, interfere with the app or its infrastructure, or attempt to access another person's account, backup, or private content.

07

Third-party services

Optional features rely on Apple and the processors named in the privacy draft. Those services have their own availability, limits, and terms. Sanctum is responsible for describing the choices it presents but cannot promise that every third-party service will remain continuously available.

08

Beta and pre-release features

Pre-release features may change, be incomplete, or occasionally fail. Keep appropriate backups of irreplaceable material and do not rely on a beta service as the only copy of important data. Feedback may be used to improve Sanctum without an obligation to adopt a particular suggestion.

09

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sanctum and the website are provided as available and without warranties that analysis will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free. Built In Space LLC is not responsible for decisions made from unreviewed transcripts or generated notes.

The final limitation-of-liability language remains subject to qualified legal review. This draft deliberately does not invent a damages cap before counsel has confirmed an enforceable formulation.

10

Ending use, changes, and contact

You may stop using Sanctum at any time. Deleting an account does not delete local note files, does forfeit unused minutes, and does not cancel an App Store subscription. Built In Space LLC may suspend server services for abuse, security risk, nonpayment, or legal requirements while leaving local files on your device untouched.

These terms are intended to be governed by New York law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are intended for the state or federal courts located in New York, New York. This draft includes no arbitration agreement or class-action waiver. Venue and notice language still require legal review.

Review before release

Have qualified counsel verify the operator and legal-notice details, age language, New York governing-law and venue clauses, disclaimers and liability limits, App Store supplement, pricing, and actual shipping behavior before these terms become effective.
