Sanctum is built around a simple idea: the app should be as honest with you as you are with it.
Do I need an account?
Not for recording, storage, playback, search, editing, sharing, or export. An account is required only when you choose server-side transcription or synthesis.
Where do my recordings and notes live?
Inside ordinary folders in Documents. Each enclave contains self-contained note folders you can see and move through the Files app.
What formats does Sanctum use?
Recordings are .m4a, transcripts use Sanctum's documented JSON envelope, and the finished and combined notes are markdown.
What happens if the audio is removed?
The transcript and note stay intact. Sanctum can clear eligible audio only when you ask, and only after the transcript is safely on disk.
When does content leave my device?
Only when you ask for server-side analysis. That boundary requires an account; the local recording and file-owning experience does not.
